Funeral services for William Eugene Thompson, 69, of Valrico, Fl, who passed away on August 18, 2023, at Melech Hospice House in Florida; will be held on Saturday, August 26, 2023, at 11:00 A.M. at Star Hill CME Church with Bishop Howard Bailey Jr. officiating under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home. Interment will be scheduled for later in Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia.
Visitation services will be held on Saturday, August 26, 2023, from 10:00 A.M. until the service time at Star Hill CME Church in Gloster, MS.
William was born on December 21, 1953, in Liberty, MS, to Leonard Thompson and Mavis Jackson Thompson. William was a veteran of the United States Air Force.
William is preceded in death by his parents, Mavis and Leonard Thompson, Jerry Thompson, Marvin Thompson, Stanley Thompson, James Thompson and Gary Thompson.
William leaves to cherish his memories his loving and devoted wife, Evett Lenoir Thompson; two daughters, Deitrich Thompson and Tiffany Thompson; one son, Kevin Thompson and wife Rachel; one granddaughter, Keilah Gadson; one grandson, Khyre Tracey; three sisters, Mary Anderson, Cynthia McGowan and Terrilyn Roberts and husband Andre; four brothers, Carl Thompson and wife Dorothy, Thomas Thompson and wife Lorethal, John Thompson and wife Bessie and Michael Thompson; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
