Meadville – November 6, 1939 – August 10, 2020
Graveside services for Vermall Smith, 80, of Meadville, MS, who passed away on August 10, 2020, will be held on Saturday, August 15, 2020, at Old Sixteen Cemetery at 12:00 P.M. officiated by Rev. Dr. Steven Harrison under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home.
Walk-through visitation services will be held on Friday, August 14, from 4:00-6:00 P.M. at The Lighthouse Center in Meadville. Please be advised all visitors are required to wear masks and will not be permitted entry without them. There is a maximum of 10 people allowed in the chapel. Visitors will be rotated out.
Vermall was born on November 6, 1939, to Henry and Alberta Johnson-Bradford.
Mrs. Smith was proceeded in death by her husband of 43 years, Mr. Leroy Smith, one brother, Woodrow Bradford, and one sister, Ruth Bradford.
She leaves to cherish her memory a loving daughter, Deborah (Dennis) Bland of Roxie; one son, Stanley (Latoya) Smith of Jackson, MS; and one stepson, Ezzard (Gwen) Campbell of Brookhaven, MS. Mrs. Smith leaves behind two caring sisters, Dorothy Louise McClendon of Inkster, MI, and Inez Dillon of Roxie, MS; three loving brothers, Leon Bradford of Bude, MS, Walter (Diane) Bradford of DeRidder, LA, and Malcolm Bradford of Jacksonville, FL.
Mrs. Smith leaves behind a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a faithful member of Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church for over 70 years. She also served in the church choir for over 30 years where she helped mold the musical ministry by mentoring the church musician, her grandson. She will be greatly missed by the Kirby community.
