Funeral services for Ida Dorsey Bridgeman, 82, of Natchez, MS, who passed away on August 6, 2022, at Merit Health Wesley in Hattiesburg, MS; will be held on Saturday, August 13, 2022, at 11:00 A.M. at St. Luke Christian Church in Pattison, MS with Pastor Troy Lee Smith Sr officiating. Interment will follow at Saint Peter Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home.
Visitation services will be held on Friday, August 12, 2022 at Marshall Funeral Home Chapel Natchez from 3:00 P.M. until 5:00 P.M. and Saturday, August 13, 2022, from 10 A.M. until service time at St. Luke Christian Church in Pattison, MS . We encourage you to wear your mask and practice social distancing; please be considerate of the family as we do our best to ensure the safety of the family during this unpredictable time.
Ida was born on September 10, 1940, in Claiborne County, MS to Alex Dorsey Sr. and Ella Wade Dorsey.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Alex Sr. and Ella Wade Dorsey; her husband, John Ray Bridgeman; two sons, Jerome Dorsey and Gary Dorsey; five sisters, Katie Moore, Etta Wilson, Rosetta Thompson, Luberta Johnson and Lucille Dorsey; five brothers, Charlie Dorsey Sr., Alex Dorsey Jr., Clarence Hedrick Sr., Willie Dorsey and Frank Dorsey.
Ida leaves to cherish her memories: three loving daughters, Reneatia Dorsey-Jones, Linda Patten and her husband Aaron and Kimberly Johnson-White; six devoted sons, Angelo Dorsey, Eddie Dorsey and wife Gloria, Arthur Dorsey Sr. and wife Ernestine, Freddie Dorsey, Aundra Dorsey and John Steele; sixteen grandchildren; forty great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends
