Obituary for Beulah Mae Johnson Gloster – October 8, 1928 – April 13, 2022 Funeral services for Beulah Mae Johnson, 93, of Gloster, who passed away on April 13 in Brookhaven, MS, will be held on Friday, April 22, 2022, at 11:00 A.M. at Sweet Home Baptist Church in Gloster with Elder George Sanders officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home. Visitation services will be held on Thursday, April 21, 2022, from 3:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. at the Lighthouse Center in Meadville, MS, and on Friday, April 22, from 10:00 A.M. until service time at the church in Gloster. Beulah was born on October 8, 1928, in Amite County, MS, to the late Reverend Saviour and Maggie Brown, and was a church mother for over 50 years at the Davis Chapel of Church of God in Christ in Gloster, MS. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lee Johnson Sr.; two daughters, Edna Ruth Robinson, and Minnie Lee Taylor; one sister, Geneva Dixon; and one brother, Roosevelt Brown. Ms. Beulah leaves to cherish her memories: nine children: Christine (David) White, Max Davis Johnson, Maxine (James) Felder Thompson, John Alton (Rose) Johnson, Mary “Lois” (Herbert) Jackson, Robert Lee Johnson Jr., Margaret (Kenny) Briggs, Jo Ann Johnson, and Doris (Marq) Powell; nine siblings: Dorothy Lee, Ruth O’Neal, Lodean, Dinah Lane, China Dale, McArthur, Odie Lee, Charlie Curtis, and John Moses; and over 50 grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. She was a beautiful light in this world who graced us for so long and will be sorely missed.
