Our Father Andrew Lee Jackson left our lives completely unexpected on July 2, 2021. We have all experienced complete disbelief, sadness, hurt and pain. Andrew was not the world’s greatest father, but he always tried to do the best he could, when he could. Daddy may not have been there for each of us at one point and time growing up, but when WE needed him, he was always there.
We are going to miss his raspy voice, laugh, the way he talked and those long phone calls to talk about the V.A. and old stories about his days in the military. Oh, and please let us not forget about his High School days, when he talked about how much of a “player” he was, because he was Mr. North Natchez.
When daddy called and he said, “Listen here, let me ask you something”. You knew it was about to be a long phone call. I used to have daddy laughing so hard, he starts coughing. My daddy and I had the most amazing times on the phone. Now, sometimes he would get on your nerves because he would call back-to-back. But hey, that’s daddy! If he thinks about something, he is going to call right back and say what he wants to say. You better answer or he will leave a voicemail going off. Then you must call back and fuss back and forth with him a little and then he will get to why he was calling. Usually, after all of that, all he wanted to do was say “I love ya hear”.
Daddy, this has truly been a heartbreaking experience for all of us. We sometimes forget nothing really lasts as long as we hoped it would. We will choose to focus on the happy and fun times together and cherish our sweet memories of you and hold those wonderful times close and near to our hearts.
Andrew, left behind his children. Bashaun J. Jackson a.k.a B.J., Bianca Rivera (Joe Rivera Sr.), Brandon Jackson, Latecha Walton, Tavarse Walton.
Andrew had a host of grandchildren that he was always super proud about. “Lil” Joe D. Rivera Jr., Alix Rivera, Logan Rivera, Nicholas J. Jackson, Tayshaun Jackson, Bria Jackson, Sanai Lane-Jackson, Kahlia Griffin, Kyla Carter, Cayden Carter and Kaelynn Carter.
Andrew had one great grandson, Josiah Jermaine Jackson.
Daddy, you are gone from sight, but you will never be gone from our hearts. We love you daddy and will miss you Forever.
